Franklin park conservatory

As lead designer for the signage implemented for Franklin Park’s new Children’s Garden and exterior wayfinding, I focused on clean yet fun design to assist in user interaction of both kids and adults. Created original renderings as well as production specifications with instructions for physical fabrication.

Wayfinding

Signage was designed to include color mapping to create ‘regions’ throughout the park assisting area identification. Continuing the park’s emphasis on nature, varying leaves from Ohio trees were assigned to each color as another way to identify the location.

Interactive Signage

A large portion of the Children’s Garden was dedicated to education through interaction. This included a rock display to touch, spinning blocks with a cartoon waterdrop teaching the life cycle of native wildlife, and even a graphic held by a worm to encourage composting!

Monuments & Plaques

Monuments were constructed to both mark the location and greet families with orientation instructions. To honor the patrons whose donations were able to make the addition to the conservatory possible, a series of plaques were designed increasing in grandeur to reflect the donor’s contributions.
