This is a post-mounted playground attachment created for Landscape Structures. The toy was made out of high density polyethylene that was shaped using CNC routing. The pins were hand cut and shaped steel rods that were plasti-dipped for better tactile interaction. One side of the pin board was covered by laser-cut acrylic sheet on wheels for safety as well as allowing for reset of the pins. The original design was created in Adobe Illustrator.
A purpose of this toy was to increase interaction between children on the playground as well as allowing for solo play. Another important part in the design was inclusive play for handicapped and disabled children. A goal of the toy was to span across age groups by helping develop sensory inputs for younger children while allowing for creative expression of older ages.
